On gunbroker they are going for $10 to $15 a piece...........there is even an 8 gauge kiln gun for sale there right now so you could buy it and shoot them!

Someone last week was saying a 37mm smoothbore shotgun would be NFA, but I think it's legal on quail.  Just not ducks...

If I remember correctly, anything larger than 10ga a destructive device.

That's what I keep hearing, but anything larger than 10 ga is not legal on migratory waterfowl.  Anything over .50" and not suitable for sporting purposes is a DD, which includes some 12 ga shotguns - Street Sweeper, et al.  I think some European 8 gauges were imported in the 90's for vaporizing quail.  I've yet to see anyone point to a reference that says larger than 10 ga is a DD.
