Which followers cause problems? Is it specific followers that are the trouble makers or is it that some shotguns randomly have trouble with some followers?
Thanks.

Some 870 Wimgmasters in years past, were sold with hollow, plastic followers that work just fine with the standard 4 rounds in the magazine design. If you add the much stronger spring and then leave these guns loaded for a while, the followers will sometimes expand ("the technical term, I believe is "pooch out"
)and drag on the walls of the extension and / or mag tube. I have seen several cause FTF (failure to feed) malfunctions over the years, and the worst are the 3 shot extension springs, simply because they are so strong.
I have never seen a "bad" install by the factory, but I have seen several come loose if re-installed by owners or officers who took the gun down to clean it. 12ga. recoil will loosten up lots of things!
Also, I have had to "tune" extension springs by cutting a few coils off. I have seen a couple that were so strong when new that they caused mis-feeding.
