I just picked up a Kimber Tac Pro II, and while it's a great pistol, I'm thinking that a bobtail might be the way to go for carry. Anyone have experience doing this? Recommended smiths?

Shouldn't be a problem.  You will loose your magwell, but I don't like magwells on a carry gun anyway.

Agreed.. the magwell's already been moved to my TLE/RL. I know the bobtailing itself is pretty simple, I just wasn't sure if there were any caveats as far as working with aluminum as opposed to steel.

I was thinking about this also. What parts need changing? I've never seen officers specific main springs.
