I've had a 1911 itch for quite awhile now,

I've gotten my options down to two:

Springfield Armory Full Size Target Model - (Dealer has this for $600)
&
Springfield Armory MC Operator - (Friend has this for $850)

I like both just about the same, and I'm leaning towards the Target model just because of the price difference - (that's a lot of ammo and mags)

My questions are -

How does the Target model stack up against the SA loaded version and against the operator?

Which one should I pick and WHY!!?!??!?!?

MC Operator; if not, then you'll regret it later.

The one with the rail.  Everything else is an antique.

What advantages does it have over the target model - besides the rail?

Thanks

Get the Target Model.  No rail to add wt and it is easier to get a holster for it.
