Whew. I thought this was going to be one of those topics that goes 15 pages, ends in namecalling and a lock. MJD

Heck, I'll stir the pot. I prefer the Glock. |

I think this: is appropriate. MJD |

Watch it! This is the 1911 forum. Home of the thin skinned, anal Asswads! |

"Get thee to a Nunnery"!!!! |
Don't over generalize, I'm a thin skinned anal Glock shooter. |
I have thought about wearing armor at work because of all the Glock fragments bouncing around the firing line.
Well, I'm pretty sure it is the other roomate with the baretta that will go hungry.
And I thank God for that. At least I'm guaranteed to not come in last at our shoots |
I. however, still have my youthful good looks... ps-who shot the hostage this week? pps-It's your fault my g/f bought that giant 1911, which she has told me I am "buying back from her" |
Nah 1911s are fun to shoot, I just don't feel the need to start buying a whole different kind of handgun. |
Ha! That's what I keep trying to tell people when they tell me I ought to start buying Glocks, Sigs and HKs. |
Is that why you like trolling it so much? Wanna see something really funny? |
Are you LEO?
Nevermind, I read another thread and figured it out. |
Is that a new model? G-lovers all ways talk out thier ass, so now you have one that lets you shoot from the speaking position? Or are you just admitting that the Glock truly is a turd? |
Hmmm...lack of charm and intelligence. |

Me? |

Glock 1911 J/K |

That cartoon stirred more interest than I thought it would !
As info, I used to own a Glock 17 and it was a fine piece that was reliable and accurate but it never inspired me like a 1911 does. |

No You're Not Alone. I Like Both. |

I stand on the 1911 side of the room but I do have one unloved Glock 21 in the safe.
What can I say? James hooked me up. RRA lower too, this has been a pretty good week. |
Glocks don't fit my hand right. The 1911 however, feels it was custom made just to fit in my hand.
Plus, Glocks are ugly. |
+1 Also, we can't forget about the "mushy" feeling trigger on a Glock. I have owned 3 Glocks over the years, a 17, 20, and 21 (and I still have the 21), therefore I believe I have earned the right to bash them! Other than Glocks being ugly, bulky, blocky, having a strange grip to point of aim angle, and taking some "getting used to" with regards to hitting my targets, I will admit that ALL of my Glocks were reliable |
[sarcasm]Wow, I've never seen either of those before, that's totally new and funny...[/sarcasm]
Yeah, there's 1911 fans posting in the 1911 section. Absolutely astonishing, isn't it? |

As much Glock bashing as I may do, I will NEVER willingly part with my 21. I invested a lot of time in learning to shoot it properly and it goes BANG every time I pull the trigger. I sold the 17 because I found it to be under powered. The 20 was plenty powerful, BUT, finding 10mm ammo proved expensive and difficult for the college student I was at that time, so I sold it and purchased a Sig P226. Two years after graduating from college, I purchased the Glock 21 as a gift to myself for passing the CPA exam, and I have been shooting it since then. Also, I found the P226 in 9mm to be a bit under powered (like the Glock 17), but I picked it up for $200 from a neighbor who went down hill by becoming addicted to drugs, so I couldn't pass that deal up. Finally, last week, after years of shooting 1911s, and saying I was going to get one, I finally broke down and purchased one. Sure, it is a S&W 1911PD, but, it just felt so right in my hand! My next one will probably be a Springfield full size. I like the idea of owning two or more of the same type of gun that uses the same ammunition and magazines, while still being different at the same time (5" barrel vs 4.25", steel vs scandium, internal extractor vs external etc.). |
