Scoffers scoff away.

I am interested in building a .22LR 1911, using a normal Govt. frame, but a .22LR-type slide (and slide components) plus a .22LR-compatible trigger group. My questions are:

1) Who makes .22LR slides that fit a standard 1911 frame?

2) Can a normal 1911 trigger group be used for .22LR if the appropriate springs are used?

3) How many rounds would it hold, assuming a mag the size of a 7-round .45 ACP?

There are several conversion kits out there...Colt made one years ago, and Kimber makes one today. My local funstore has a conversion.
