I have a serious craving for a 10mm 1911 with a rail.

The only option currently is to build one or have it built.

I have extensive machine shop experience and have done some 1911 hand fitting in the past... I think I want to build my own.

I was thinking of ordering a Recon frame from Caspian, slide from Caspian, parts kit.  Novak's sights.  EB grip safety, etc.

Am I going to be biting off more than I can chew trying to build my own 1911?  I figure if I get into it and realize I can't do it, I can always send it to Tripp or another good smith to have it completed.
