Are the RIA Commanders a well made pistol?

Anyone here own one? Impressions of it?

Buy or Pass?

I've not owned an RIA Commander but I have a 5" Gov't Model.

I'd suggest spending the extra $50 or $60 and getting a Springfield WWII Champion.

RIA makes a pretty good pistol in my experience, but nowhere near the quality of SA. Also, you can probably find a used Colt 1991A1 for pretty close to the same price range. I don't think much of Colt's recent offerings for the AR rifles, but their 1911's are probably the best (and most expensive, but then again, sometimes you get what you pay for......)

The entry level Springfields can be found in the Phoenix area for pretty cheap.  I bought a Champion with the aluminum frame on Friday for $419.

Have a checked gunsamerica, gunbroker, and auctionarms?

Good luck with whichever you go with.
