I've not owned an RIA Commander but I have a 5" Gov't Model.
I'd suggest spending the extra $50 or $60 and getting a Springfield WWII Champion. |

+2 RIA makes a pretty good pistol in my experience, but nowhere near the quality of SA. Also, you can probably find a used Colt 1991A1 for pretty close to the same price range. I don't think much of Colt's recent offerings for the AR rifles, but their 1911's are probably the best (and most expensive, but then again, sometimes you get what you pay for......) |

The entry level Springfields can be found in the Phoenix area for pretty cheap. I bought a Champion with the aluminum frame on Friday for $419. Have a checked gunsamerica, gunbroker, and auctionarms? Good luck with whichever you go with. |
