I recently purchased a Springfield Armory 1911A1 compact. My first pistol! I would like to use the weapon as a concealed carry and would appreciate any suggestions you have for a holster.  Both brand names and types of holster  hip pancake sob so on.  I realize it will come down to personal prefference, both mine and yours, but are there any I should try to stay away from.

Thanks.

It all depends on personal preference, but I like any of the Milt Sparks line. I carry my 1911 in a Milt Sparks Summer Special. However, some people do not like the idea of the holster sitting on the inside of the waistband. In that case, I would recommend a belt slide or a pancake style holster, maybe even a paddle if you plan on removing the gun from time to time while wearing it. I would stay away from cheaper lines, remember its only your life your wagering, so don't buy cheap products. My opinion
