Which one would you chose?
I would not carry it.
HD and range gun.
Probably in 45 but not afraid of 9mm.

Of those I would get the Specialist.

I have a TCP. Fantastic pistol and easily my favorite pistol in the collection.

I'd still vote Specialist. Best looking full size 1911 this side of a full house custom.

Ok may I ask why the specialist?
Also how do you like the distressed model.
I like the look of the duty finish but their is an ok deal on a distressed commander 45 specialist on gunbroker.

Purely aesthetic for me. I bought a TCP because I wanted a commander length 9mm. Had I wanted govt frame in 45, I would have gone with the specialist.

They both handle and shoot wonderfully. I dont think you'd find one to be appreciably more shootable. A subjective decision, put another way.

I’m a huge fan of railed 1911s. I’ve got a few other popular specimens to compare it to, and the Specialist is tip top of the heap. Fit and finish is perfect. I actually carry this one pretty frequently. As to the distressed duty finish, I am really enjoying it. I was never one for the distressed finish unless it was created from your own holster wear, but this was pretty tastefully done. There was a Wraith in the case next to it when I picked it up. Each one is different and done by hand.
