Let me take a guess from the scans... a 1920 Commercial Luger, and a cute byf 43 P-38? Excellent! |

All numbers match and I believe you are correct on both pistols. Luger is DWM with no markings on reciever and underside of barrel/reciever marked as shown. Is the 42 the date of manufacture?

1920 DWM Commerical was either made in the 1920s or reworked from an Imperial Luger (WWI)during that time. Chamber date was removed (if a reworked Imperial) and Crown N added to forward left side of Receiver indicating a Commercial Proof. 42 indicates barrel was replaced by Mauser during the era of WWII. The sharp barrel band at the back of the front sight block is another indicator of a Mauser barrel.
