So, I've been looking for a scope mount for my 1911 to play around with. Something that doesn't require any permanent modifications to the slide or frame (i.e. drilling) and won't totally bankrupt me. I was perusing a catalog and saw a B-Square mount that uses the slide stop pin to mount to the frame, and I've seen various manufacturers offers ones that mount to the grip panels.
I'm not looking for competition level stuff, just something different to take to the range to tinker with on those boring days. Question is, are these things total junk? Price is somewhat reasonable (I think so, at least) but I hate wasting money on useless stuff. I realize anything that's not permanently mounted to the frame won't be as stable a platform, but that's ok with me. Can anyone offer an opinion or suggestions?
Thanks to anyone that replies--heck, if you even read my message!
