this is from Jim Scoutten:
OK, Here's the answers:
OLN US owns a third of OLN Canada, but the programming is different. And I've talked to OLN Canada about the new show (American Shooter) starting on OLN US and did they consider adding it to their line up? The folks there said they didn't recall ever having a gun or shooting show... maybe there was a shotgun show years ago... but they'd think about it. You Canadians might want to help 'em think a bit... through their website: www.facetheelements.com/contact.asp That's the feedback form for OLN Canada.
Next... we have learned that Dish Network and Direct TV are NOT available in Canada. Apparently a National Licensing issue.
We have learned there is a dish-type system up there called Bell Express Vu and there is an option on their system packages to pick up OLN... however that's OLN Canada... Not OLN US. So no help there.
Basically, our long time Canadian viewers are SOL, unless OLN Canada decides to carry the show, which they can do for no money... just by giving us some of the commercial positions in the show for our advertisers. So if you want, light 'em up with the suggestion and you could get the show yet.
NOW THE US:
I've cleared up the confusion about scheduling: It is Fridays at 8:30PM and again at 11:30PM Eastern time. And again Sunday Mornings at 8:00AM Eastern Time.
Work off Eastern Time to figure when you want to watch in your timezone.
There is a link into OLN US website that will get you the line up of the shows, the Eastern Times, and a very short mention of what's in the show. Click the time you want and the contents write up will drop down out of the listing:
www.olntv.com/fsTV_1362.cfm
(See, I'm getting better at this board code thing.)
Now a word on our website www.AmericanShooter.com The dates are wrong, but the content is right. So far the bosses haven't approved the cost of updating the dates on the site, but the order of shows and Rob's lessons and Guntech products are all correct. So fumble around a bit in there and you'll find the information until the folks I work for see the importance of updating the dates and the network.
While I was talking to the folks at OLN US they kept telling me how excited they were about having the show because they had already been hearing from fans. Apparently a number of you have sent nice e-mail notes to them.
If you haven't, you might want to do that through the OLN US website:
www.olntv.com/GIFB_feedback.cfm
That's direct to their feedback form and apparently they are reading 'em. A big showing of support down here might help the Canadian system think harder about carrying AS if they hear about the buzz in the US.
And that stuff I told you earlier about tossing out the Outdoor Channel and substituting OLN on the Comcast and ATT cable systems... apparently they aren't even waiting for the contracts to expire on Outdoor Channel. They're just dumping it. So chances are good OLN is going to turn up in your set choices shortly.
Wish the news was as good for the Canadians.
