I'm don't think you can go wrong with the K frame.

Hell YES! The one I had shot point-of-aim, not too shabby with those fixed sights. $125 is a damn good price as well.

The 65 with a 3" or 4" barrel is perfection in a fighting revolver IMHO.  GET IT

If it is functional and the bore is in good shape, pick it up. Good deal...

By the time you read this, you should already have it!
A stainless .357 version of the model 10, which was the bread & butter service revolver in .38.
Any "K" or "L" frame grip fits it, and there are a lot of aftermarket grips for those.
And it would look great wearing a glass bead finish too!
I think you already knew the answer...just tryin' to make us jealous, huh?

The FBI used to issue the Mdl 65 with a 3" barrel.

For $125 if its timed ok, grab it.

Like the 1911 style pistol the K frame S&W is extremely easy to work on and there are a ton of parts available for them.

I have a model 19... same gun, blued and with adjustable sights.

For that price, so long as the timing is correct, buy all that they have.

Yeah...if it's a used PD gun check the timing.. 19s and 65s weren't meant for a steady diet of 357...They will eat 38+p all day long though..

Way back when.. my department used to issue Mdl 28s with full power 357... then they went to 19s.. after your probation and qualifying twice (not once but twice) with 357 ammo you could carry it with 357.. while organizing some old records that's how I discovered that tidbit of info. Of course those guys shot.. alot... like 50,000 rounds one year..and the guns that were shot the most were rebuilt the most as well.

I agree with Lumpy196.. they are great fighting wheelguns... especially with the 3 inch barrel and some good 125 gr 357 JHPs..

but hell for @$125 you can't go wrong!

I carry a model 64 4-inch daily while working. It's the same as the 65 only in .38 special. Great shooting revolvers. For $125 it's a steal

Terrible gun, vastly overpriced, obsolete, you'll never be happy...

I'll buy it to save you the grief.

My bud in the SCHP still laments the day they turned in their 65s, and got Glock 22s.
