Bob,
That stinks, I've never broke a spring in anything until this year and that was my fault, I pinched my magazine spring while reassembling my 700 Adl and tried to straighten it. That should be a cheap fix though. Are you going to buy a complete spring kit? I never worked on those in the service. They were too new when I got out. All I ever did was a correspondence course for armorers on them. Tom |

Its common to break the trigger spring in Beretta pistols, especially if you dry fire. They are cheap and easy to replace. Beretta and Wolff both have them, and Wolff makes an unbreakable coil type replacement assembly.

nOt uncommon at all to break the trigger return spring in DA autos. I broke mine in my P220. My co workers have also broken a few in their P226. If you rely on the weapon for anything serious replace that sping when you replace the recoil sping.

You should have bought a tactical lorcin.
I would go with the wolf coil set up. I think it is only about $20 or so. |

Heck that's a small thing to fix. In the last shooting school I attended it happend to two Glocks in one day. Watch-Six

Easy fix,
however I don't suggest you use the OEM part but this instead www.gunsprings.com/1ndex.html  You won't break that one.

Thanks guys, I didn't even look that close to see how much of a PIA it would be to replace it. I have to admit that this is a new one on me, I've never seen one of those break before, I don't think. I have other pistols with a lot more rounds through it than that Beretta.
I guess I'll have to read up on it as I have only disassembled it enough to clean it and look at replacing any other potential problems as Tom suggested. |

I've got six DA/SA semi autos, including 2 berettas and I've never broken a trigger return spring......probably 100,000 rounds through all of them.
So, it can't be THAT common or it would have happened to me at least once. But, as stated, it's not a big deal to change. I've torn my Berettas down and they're pretty easy. |

I have a few spares myself, just in case this happens to me. I picked them up while ordering a few "D" hammer springs to lighten up the DA pull. Spare parts are invaluable when you need them. -- Stock up on a single order and go in with a friend or two to save on shipping. Beretta’s customer support is helpful, efficient, fast in shipping, and the parts are inexpensive (most of them anyway.)

The INS mod from Wolff is the way to go. It'll end that common problem with the 92. |

I heard once that happens, you have to replace that gun with a real gun, a 1911.
*waits for the ground to open up and swallow him as commanded by Aimless* All kidding aside, that seems to be a semi common fail after use with them. It's a cheap fix to get back up and shooting with it though. I have also heard not to use the Beretta part to replace it as others have said. |
