What are the differences between a standard M1911A1 (SA for example), Colt Series 70, Colt Series 80, and the M1991A1?
I'm lost

Series70 does nto have the firing pin saftey.  I have been told that it also has a smoother trigger pull.  The Series80 is exactly the opisit.

1991 colts are series 80's.  At least mine say series 80.  Series 80 like mentioned above refer to the Colt pat. firing pin safety.  Both of my series 80 have just as good, and better trigger pull than any 70 series.  Unless you are going to a very low trigger pull (lower than 3.5 to 4 lb), don't fret the series 80 stuff.

this should clear most of your question up
