I really do not know much about HP's. I love the looks of them and want one in 9mm.

What would be a good HP to get for carry?

Is the MkIII a good option. They say it is cast, but stronger than forged?

Is there any model or type of HP I should STAY AWAY FROM?

Has anyone bought one of the rebuilt Argentine ones from Southern Ohio Guns for $300? Good deal?

I cant speak for the newer ones but the original FN Belguim guns were excellent pistols.  Ive read both good & bad reports about the various clones made in other parts of the world.  I find it hard to believe that a casting can be stronger than a forging but Im not a metalurgist.  I think it would be hard to go wrong with any of the versions made by FN, theyve been making HP`s for 70+ years.

I'd go with the laser rather than the inkjet.

Anything that says "Browning" on the slide is safe to buy. Any negatives such as sights or grips can be easily remidied.

I was thinking something like Bigfoot, with 1,500 HP.

AmericanPatriot1776,

I'd spend a little more and get the real deal, my new 9mm practicle model was $600, another good site to check out is www.fnhipower.com. I traded in a 357 on mine and haven't regretted it, 570 rounds downrange in a month and zero problems. Eats anything and more accurate than I am. I love the winchester white box deal at walmart too, $10.97 for 100rds 9mm 155gr target ammo!

I saw 3 or 4 NIB HP's at the funshow today, all but one in 9mm. None were cheap either. None were bought either, based on what I saw.
