I am thinking about trying out some gunbutter but I have never used it before. Do you use this stuff just like anyother oil, or do you just put it on certain "high friction" parts of the slide?

Assuming you mean grease, I tried it and never was happy with it. Lubrication was great, but was messy, even just applying in light coats per directions. It seemed like normal powder residue mixed with it and just formed this black sludge. I just use oil or CLP now. I have several tubes of Tetra gun grease laying around, it just never worked out for me. Maybe I just shoot too dirty of ammo who knows?

I use gunbutter and love it.  I noticed an immediate difference of the hoppes that I had been using.  That little bitty bottle will last a LONG time.  Go over to www.hs2000talk.com and do a search.  The majority of people are extremely pleased with it.

Gunbutter is OUTSTANDING!! I love it and use it on all my hanguns. Its an oil that really works great! A little goes a LONG way. I really noticed a huge difference since i started using it. I can go alot longer between cleanings and it doesnt gum up like most oils. I no longer use grease on the rails just gunbutter and it works TONS better. I used to use CLP as well but this stuff is much better in my opinion.
