On Saturday I was offered a new-in-box blue DW revolver in .22LR, 2" barrel, small grips, match sights.  The price is good ($300) but I don't care for the 2" barrel or small grips.  Can I get a 4" barrel easily?  Are aftermarket grips available?  What about converting to 4" .38 special?  Any thoughts appreciated.

Barrels were available from 2" to 10" for the 22. They couljd be had in standard profile, heavy profile, vent rib or vent rib heavy.

There were also several versions of factory grips, Pachmayr grips and DW even sold blanks that were already inletted.

For get about a conversion. If you want a 38, buy a 38.

You didn't say which model .22.  Most of the 22s (all maybe) were built on the same frame as the model 15 (.357).  Any of the aftermarket grips for the .357 should therefor fit (think Houge).  Barrels should not be to hard to come by, but will be nowhere near as common as for the .357 and .44, I would think.

Dan's are the best.
