Any suggestions or feedback on any of the new lite weight 357's? I carry a 38 Taurus snubby on days I don't feel like lugging on of my 1911's. Nice gun, but i would feel i bit better if I had the 357 power if needed

Then load the Taurus up with +P's. You'll find that .357's out of a snubby are obnoxiously loud and big-flamers. I use +P's in my 66 2 1/2" S&W....no reason to use magnums with the high quality +P's around.

I had the pleasure of playing with a 340PD with CT Lasergrip and was thoroughly impressed. It takes a little getting used to with the .357 round (compared to 38spl.), but after you shot it enough times, you know what to expect and it's not so bad. I remember the 1st shot I took, I was like WOW. Each shot it became easier to manage the recoil. I strongly recommend the CT Lasergrips with those guns too.

I know its not that light weight but my Ruger SP 101 shoots .38's like they were .22's.

I say go for it. You will do a hell of a lot more carrying than shooting so the light weight is the way to go. If you ever do have to shoot it you will have so much adrenaline pumping you won't feel a thing.

Unless you absolutly want a 357 look at a 432PD its chambered in 32 H&R mag. Its the same weight and size of the 38 but you get one more round for six and its still a magmum. you can also plink with 32 longs and save money

The S&W 360 is small and light, and perfect for backup. Man does she kick like a mule with those .357's in her though!

I have a 340pd and keep Gold Dot 38spl +p 135 gr in it. Laser grips are great but pricy. They do work well if you ever need them. 357's recoil, but are controlable with practice. +p's are fine.

S&W 386PD Bigger than a J frame but 17.5 ounces and 7 shots. Recoil could be just a little sharp.
