Is S&W concentrating on semi auto line of pistols?  Seems like there are very few revolvers available and no j frames.

I have been looking for a 642 or 442 for a partial trade towards a M&P 360 w/ XS BigDot, I got it in a trade.
I prefer to pocket carry snubs and want a hammerless (preferably w/o lock) model and I can't find any.

Are they getting bought up with demand or is S&W not putting very many out?
Any suggestions on where to find j frames in stock?

Thanks RRA15

Personally, look for a good used Pre-Lock one. Ive yet to see a snubbie "shot out" and there are deals. Ive picked up 2 in the past year for around $200-250 each.

Thanks and I agree.  Used pre-locks are very rare and not even close to that price range, that I see.
I'll probably hold onto the M&P 360 and wait for new No lock 642 or 442s to become available.

Does the 360 have the hammer?

My LGS just got a 642 and a 442 in for the first time last week since back in the fall. The last one they had was one I traded in. They said they had them ordered, just weren't available. And they are a high volume dealer. They are almost like the SR1911 was in 2011-2012.

Good to know they are starting to show up again in LGS.  Thanks

My LGS has had a 642 sitting there for a while.  I think a bodygaurd too.  But I don't know if that would be considered a J frame or not.

I actually just picked up this used 442 from a local gun shop.  Looks like it has only been shot a few times.
-No Lock.
-Recessed Cylinder for Moon Clips
-$340 (included moon clips, hogue grip, and range time)

I think I did good considering I could barely find any S&W prior to this one.

NICE.  A no lock 442 for 340.  That's good.

Thanks.  It was kind of funny... I was looking at all their new 442's but the price wasn't right.  I asked the guy behind the counter if they had any more and you could see him get disapointed.  He was holding this one for himself and said he was going to buy it if it never sold or noone asked for it.  Guess I got lucky.  Never hurts to ask if you don't see what you're looking for.

They had a bunch of new ones for I think $480.  Could be wrong about that though.
