Does someone in the know have an update on the availability of the Ruger LCP? They seem to be in short supply around these parts.Thanks.
Why not save about 50 bucks and get a Kel-Tec? I have a P32 and a P3AT and they're both reliable and suprisingly accurate (considering the relative lack of sights). The P3AT kicks like a mule but so would a LCP.
I think they're pretty much in short supply everywhere. Since I bought mine, I haven't seen them at any of the stores near me. I think that Ruger is swamped with the recall they have going on, but hopefully you'll be seeing some soon.
Every week I get about four to six of them from our distributors. We sell them for $399. They sell like hot cakes. Kel-Tecs go for $279. People buy the LCP because of the name and nothing more.
Get the Kel-Tec. Same gun, better price, better customer service. |
I was in a gunshop yesterday and they told another customer they had a one year waiting list
I feel better now. I use to feel bad about buying firearms from my buddies with FFLs for wholesale. Now that I know some dealers sell above MSRP when supplies are short (Much like the supply of gasoline) I can sleep better.
why are u ripping people off with the $399 price tag on the lcp?? That is about the highest price I have seen anywhere. Most can be bought for $300 and under, basically the same price as ther kt's. If the kt is the same gun (which it isn't) then why are you not selling for $399... |
+1 I have seen Kel-Tecs in this area gather dust, but the Rugers sell same-day. |

Check out Sniper country PX. They have them HERE for $295. sw1217 |
If you put a kt and a lcp in the same showcase with the lcp even being priced $25 higher. the KT will gahter dust. But ripping a Ruger buyer off by over pricing the gun $125 to 150 bucks and then saying buy the kt because it is the same gun. well you readers know what I am saying. |

Shoot straight had some at the last gunshow for 599. I hate them and their segways. One of the guys working for them actually had a fauxhawk.
IT looks to me like he is setting a price that is STILL selling like hotcakes. No one is being forced to buy at that price, so therefore, $399 /= ripoff. $399 = market price, that is, the price at which the market seems to bear pretty well. TXL |
Call for availability. Hmmm, so it's $295 at a place you probably CAN'T get them or $399 at a place you can. Funny how that works. TXL |
>>so it's $295 at a place you probably CAN'T<<
Guess I was lucky... got mine for $295.00 in one week! |
both prices a rip-off. One does not have to buy to feel like it is a rip off either. Wouldn't be the first dealer to do it. chrysler dealers did it with the PT cruiser. STILL A RIP OFF.. |
9 days from placing the order to my wife unwrapping her B-day present. I will however agree that there is nothing wrong with getting the price that the market will bear. Of such are successful businesses made. sw1217 |

Because everyone else in Miami sell them for $450 to $599. I don't make the prices. I just sell the damn pistols. I don't force people to buy them. If they know of a cheaper place to get them at then by all means.... It's a free market... you don't want to pay $399 go somewhere else. |
Indeed I would if I lived in your city to. if all the dealers jumped off the bridge in miami, would you be doing it. Hell their all doing itMiami dealers are ripping off the gun owners... |
wow, a guy who's screen name is "Porsche" is complaining about high pricing of guns...that's kinda ironic. |

If your lucky you can pic a LCP off gunbroker for $300 + shipping
At my local funstore a Kel-Tec costs $325 |
A gunstore here in Montana has at least a dozen of them on the shelf for $289.
I found some online but they are $299 and require next day air which the seller charges $70 for. Add in my dealers $35 xfer fee and now the gun is $400. I'll wait.

My local shop had one on the shelf this afternoon when I went in for my weekly visit. First time I got to hold one and see it in person, still can't decide if I want one or not. They had a waiting list about 15 people deep and had only been getting in one at a time for the last few weeks, but they just got enough in to cover the waiting list and still have 3 or 4 left. They are selling for $309.99.

Ruger LCP selling for less then MSRP of $330 is a good buy. Judging from the serial numbers Ruger is turning out approx. 17oo a week or around 90,000 a year. Supply has to be about caught up with demand.
Local store having a sale this weekend. LCP is going for 269, guy at the store says they are getting a shipment of about 150 of them and that there will be a line in the morning for them. BTW limit 2 per customer!
I picked mine up yesterday.
I was number 104 or 105 on the backorder list. It took about 4 months. |
Just picked mine up. There was probably about 40+ buying the LCP at the store. Took about an hour and a half. I've been having trouble tracking down ammo locally though.
OK, I got this info from the horses mouth. Ruger is producing 500/day or approx. 2500 a week or 10,000 a month. So from the horses mouth we can expect the supply to meet the demand in 2 to 3 months. Soooooooo all of these people demanding $360 will have their bubble busted shortly.
I didn't have any problems at all getting my hands on one for $275.00 out the door. It does help if you are semi friends with the owner a gun shop.

B.S. it took me about 2 weeks from ordering it to walking out of the store with it. And I paid about 290 for mine... Not no 399

Ammo depot out in caddo mills off I30. Their number is 903 527 6120 talk to Mickey

I bought one a few weeks back for $299 at a local shop and a week later put down half on another one. I think it's been about 3 weeks since I put that money down and the gun still isnt in yet. I was 4th on the list to put cash down to reserve one. My wife carries the first one daily and I will carry the second when my SA Micro is too large for what I'm doing.
I am picked mine up this Saturday. I had to wait a week for my shop to get them in from Ruger $325+ tax. They have been selling as fast as they get them in. Usually 6 a week. Extra mag was $25.
I just ordered one at BassPro in Fort Myers, FL for $299. They said the wait is about 3-4 weeks, but the get 30-40 pistols in at a time. They did have a box of magazines in stock. I ordered one and picked up an extra magazine ($20) tonight.
Local shop just a had a Ruger sale..with some company reps up..
they had 300 of the LCPs in..selling for $279 before tax.. I picked up one elsewhere for $300 shipped. |
Still waiting for mine from Bass Pro in ATL. Ordered it on July 7....Every week it is the same story we should have it next week. |
That sucks to hear. I am gun #109. 54 have been delivered already. |
I talked to the Ruger corperate sales office and they said they are shipping every LCP that was produced during the week to the distributers at the end of the week. We should start seeing them in gun stores soon. I would suggest putting your name on a list a your local gunshop and maybe a deposit instead of paying some of these crazy prices.
Picked mine up on Friday from Cabellas in Richfield Wisconsin for $299.99 + tax.
They had about a dozen in back and extra mags for $24.99. I'm not a big fan of Cabellas but I could not pass up $299.99 for an LCP in stock! |
Local is a few months waiting. You can get them on the local classifieds NIB for $350.
I just ordered one at the local peace officers store, $275.00
At that price i figured i'd give it a try. |
Min e arrived at the gunstore.
Test fired at the factory on 09-28-08. So its relatively recent production. Salewoman said they are selling abunch of them. |
Got mine for 305.00 after taxes. But I may be waiting about a month or so for them to get it.
how do they shoot?
I've been contemplating a KT 32 for a while, but now these are out. |
