Purchasing an P7M8 with the mill mark (police refurb?), and I have no idea when this pistol was made. There's no two-letter date code, and it has a serial number of 125XXX, along with a 96/07 stamped on the slide near the muzzle, to the right of the mill mark.

I've searched over the Archives and such, and still no clear answer. Can anyone help? Does the 96/07 mark mean it was made in '96?

along with a 96/07 stamp...

Gee, do you think that might be a clue?

Sorry but I had to give you a dig.  It was proofed in July of 1996.  A lot more straight forward than the date codes but most of the refurbs were dated instead of coded.
