I got what I thought was a good deal on something I've wanted since I handled one a few months ago. I picked up an excellent condition compact with 2 mags, night sights, LEM trigger installed and version 1 trigger (parts) with original hardcase and literature. $500.

I just ordered 3 more mags and and a Milt Sparks Versa Max II holster for it . I'm not a H&K newbie as I own a Tactical in 45 and a TE UMP clone. I've been carrying an XD SC in 9 but I've been wanting to consolidate calibers (45 all the way) with my carry piece. It's larger but I've heard the MS VM is an excellent carry rig.

Now I have to sell my XD.

Looks like you got a helluva deal. I'm guessing you didn't buy it from a dealer?

Fine,Fine You hit the tire, The bumper is 2x3x1/4 steel, If you'd hit that you'd come out on the short end. A year or so ago I had a lady back out of a parking spot at Chilis and hook the corner of the bumper with her front fender wheel opening.. It pulled her whole fender off and knocked a lttle paint off mine.

Here are some pics of my compact 45 and my Milt Sparks Versa Max II holster. Does a pretty good job considering this is summer wear.

I've always worn mine at the 4 o'clock position.  I've never considered the 12 o'clock.  I'll have to experiment with this.

Thanks for the pics!

I experimented with 10:00 today. I've done the 4:00 but it's hard for me to sit down and use a back rest.

12 o'clock is a ballsy move (pun intended ).

I ordered mine from Lightning Arms on Friday and it was in my hands on Monday. They're on the West coast and I'm on the east.

Lightning Arms has the best customer service I have experienced from an online source. They sent a hand signed letter thanking me for my purchase. Just add a dot com to their name.

That is the oddest application of the VM2 I have ever seen.

I much prefer  4 O' clock.

By "ODD" do you mean comfortable, concealable and easily accessable? If yes then your right because it is. If you have a gut that hangs over your belt then it probably isn't for you.

To me it's odd in the 4:00 position because it's difficult to sit down with your back up against a back rest (like driving) and it's slower and more awkward to draw. Point is, too each there own, that doesn't make it "odd" in any negative sense.

YMMV

I'm thin, 6 ft. 185 lbs. Putting the pistol there, at least for me, would make me look like I have a gut and well as tend to pinch my tenders when I sit down.

Just forward of the kidney area works for me, and I can sit down with no discomfort. The key is not going to far "back" wih it.

It's all about what works you you!

Thanks for the heads up. I've probably tried it too far back. We're about the same size. I'm 6' 195lbs. I have a large chest so if I wear a shirt that hangs, it doesn't print. The muzzle is in the pelvic region above the tender area and it's comfortable.

I'm going to try your suggestion on a little more forward. Thanks!

You look to have a bit more torso, than me, I'm mostly legs :)

That could be why the 12 o'clock doesn't work for me.

The distance from my belt to my crotch is shorter.

I ordered my VM2 from lightning arms on Friday.  The lady on the phone was very nice, and said I'd have it in 2-3 business days.  12 o'clock sounds weird to me too, but if it's workin for you then great.  ~3:30 is most comfortable and accessible for me.

edit:  Where'd you get that shirt?  It's pretty sweet.

Audrey and Craig at Lightning Arms are good people.

I've purchased from them many times, and the service is superb.

WOW you have to clean your sig that much to keep it from jamming??? Well if you had an HK you would not have to cut up everything in sight to clean it.. It will fire no matter how dirty...
