Frontier 22 Buntline with extra 22 mag cylinder. Delivered today. Advertised as “minty, but I think unfired, no turn line on cylinder, bluing 100% to my eye, box and all papers in great condition. I’m declaring it unfired.
So, of course I immediately cleaned it and put 100 rounds through it. Super accurate, great trigger. What a sweet, fun gun.
When I was in high school, bought a New Frontier 4 5/8 barrel 22, and it was bedside gun through college and law school. A 22 SA revolver isn’t much of a self-defense gun, but it’s what I had. Put thousands of rounds through it. Then dumbass sold it. (Why are all bad gun decisions selling, not buying?) Paid ~$90 in 1973. Of course, minimum wage was $1.60 an hour, and that’s how I paid for it, working nights in HS.
Paid $859 for the new one. Worth every dime.
Now I want a 45 Colt SAA. Have a Taylor & Co Smoke Wagon 45 with 5.5” barrel, and it’s an exceptionally fine pistol. But it’s not a Colt.
