What are you folks using in your 43?

I have a lot of 147 grain HST and 147 Syntech for my Glock 19 but switched to 124 grain +P for the shorter barrel.

If any of you are shooting 124 HST can you let me know what kind of practice ammo you are using that has close to similar point of impact?

I suspect that 115 grain FMJ will be close since they have similar velocity.  the 124 +P makes about 1165 fps in my 43X.

This: Federal American Eagle AE9AP (124gr) matches POI of HST 124gr (P9HST1) the closest of anything I have tried and is recommended practice ammunition for the ballistic characteristics of P9HST1 (non +P) by Federal Premium.  For P9HST3 (124gr +P) I don't know, but AE9AP is advertised at 1150 fps from a 4" barrel.  I chrono'd this round from my full size M&P 9 (4.25" barrel) at an average of 1144 fps.

I run hsts but tbh I don’t know the bullet weight. Reason is I don’t put much stock in it and I was lucky to find them.

My practice ammo is 124 gr. handloads. They are not moving at the velocity of the 124 gr. +P HST we carry in our G43s but at CCW ranges POA/POI is close enough to not matter...

no need to use 124 in the shorter barrel, 147 is gtg

115 Barnes solid copper hollow points. They are pretty much my "go to" round for everything 9mm. They say +P, but don't let that fool you.

As has been pointed out, there's no need to use a lighter weight bullet unless you just want to.

I carry with 147 gr HST and practice with whatever.

Thanks for replies.

the Winchester NATO (white box) is also close to point of impact.

my 43x is surprisingly accurate so I want to dial it in.

Chronographed velocity from 43X.

Average velocity at 55 F (3.4 in barrel);

124 HST +P 1171 fps.

147 +P HST 1030,

147 Syntech 976,

147 HST 968,

147 American Eagle FMJFN, 946,

147 Hydrashock 935.

The 147 AE regulates w HST at 10 yds and is 2-4 inches left at 30 to 50. I hit 9 inch gongs 2 for 5 at 100 yards. Head shots 3 for 5 at 20. Needs red dot for longer shots. Syntech matches HST perfectly.

124 HST is only 2 inches right of 147 AE FN at long range. Might try 124 or 147 reload at same velocity as HST to regulate.

All of my 43x handguns shoot pretty much everything the same from 3-25yrds.
I shot 124 and 147 HST at all distances with no change in grouping sizes or impact.  I prefer shooting 147 standard pressure SD for the lighter recoil. I don't believe in shooting +P in anything sub compact.

Issued ammo is HST 124+P ... training round 147 AE

I would imagine we will be moving to 124gr AE on our next order.

Here’s a pic from some ammo testing I did for my Dept.
