I recently came across an interesting revolver for my collection. A S&W Model 342 made from the factory for moon clips. Acquired this through a fellow LEO and family friend. It is your typical no lock 342 no dash model except like I said.... moon clips. I have never seen another like it and I don't believe this was worked on by TK Customs. The individual I purchased this from wouldn't lie on that. Trusted friend, etc.... Nothing mentioned in my S&W books. Nothing on the web. Nothing period.

Did some digging on the gun. It was made in 1999, the Model 342 was made from 1999 to 2001. With inventory sold off by 2003. This one was a Non-Cataloged Model 342 made for SRT Supply out of St. Petersburg, FL. They were and still are a major LE Distributor for S&W. It was made as a dealer sampler to be shown to PDs in Florida as a BUG and Admin Gun. Was made from the factory for moon clips. Sold to my friend in 2000 give or take since SRT got no contracts for it. Sat in my buddy's safe until now.

Funny thing, it can chamber .357 Magnum.

Bought this SW1911SC day before yesterday.  Feels GREAT.  Now to get it to the range to make sure it runs as good as it looks & feels.

I was always a Glock guy til I bought my first M&P.

All are full sized Gen 1's:
Top left-  9mm with Viper optics
Bottom left- 9mm with night sights
Top right- .40 PD marked trade in with NS
Bottom right- .45PD marked trade in with NS

I had a hard time finding a one Holster to fit the the 9mm with suppressor height sights, a normal 9mm, and the .45.  Then I found the safariland 578, which holds all 3 nicely.

That Stars have aligned!

Should be shipping out soon.

S&W 4566 TSW for the WVSP. Very rare and hard to find. The last .45 ACP 3rd Generation Pistol S&W ever made.

My S&W Model 544 Texas Train Wagon Commemorative in .44-40 would be a fun gun for a match or two.

The grips have a birthday of May 27, 1986.

5"six shot N Frame in .44-40. Like Dirty Harry, but classy.

Finally found a M&P9c 1.0 in FDE. Got it for a song of $300 NIB on Gunbroker. Picked up a new Apex Trigger Kit on ebay for $80 too. Added a 10-8 rear sight and she is now in my daily carry rotation.

Some nice specimens in here....

My new to me 5946TSW.  Ex-Brinks gun.  Lots of holster wear and mauled grips.  Doesn't bother me though. Got 3 mags in the deal.  Just installed Wolff spings in them, ready for the range.

Brinks for a very long time was the largest buyer of S&W guns.

My first S&W. It's a 4506-1, in very good condition. I paid $550 for it locally and it was worth every penny. The dark grey discoloration you see on the underside is it's only quirk, that's where the agency marking was removed. Doesn't bother me though and it shoots beautifully.

I like the frame decocker Smiths much more than the slide safety Smiths.

Below are the only 3 S&W guns I have which are not revolvers, an M&P40, 469 and M&P Bodyguard..
Attachment Attached File

I picked up the 469 at a pawn shop a few years ago and it only came with one magazine. Never been able to find spares.
A few weeks ago I saw a 459 magazine on sale at Midway so I threw it into my order to be able to take advantage of their over-$49 free shipping. A friend and I shot it quite a bit at the range and although it sticks out of the bottom of the grip because it holds 2 extra rounds it functioned fine all day, just in case anyone else has one of these and needs a mag.

I don't have anything against the M&P series of autos, but I am a lot more interested in picking up more older gen S&W autos.

@Miami_JBT - completely your fault. I was fine before. I was happy. I have 10mm... Then you post this Sc framed S&W, and literally the next day I found this one at the LGS.

Now I have a .40 to feed.
