I haven't had a chance to shoot one, but I really, realllly want to after hearing nothing but awesome things about it. I think it is a "Performance Center" model, which means it comes from the S&W custom shop. The PC guns are hand fitted and assembled and have a lot more attention given to them. They are pricey though. A lot of people describe them as kinda like 1911s but better (than a stock 1911). I handled one. Felt nice. A bit out of my price range though. Sorry I can't provide more than that. I don't have any firsthand shooting experience with it.

Thanks for the info.  The reason I was asking is that my soon to be father in-law wants to trade me one for my Springfield 1911 Ultra Compact.  I shot the 645 when I was in TN and I was amazed by it.  Im not the BEST pistol shot but the gun seemed to help alot.  Anyway Ive already decided to go thru with the trade I just wanted the popular consensus on how good they really are.

From what I understand, that would be a good trade (in your favor).
