Except it's not a photoshop, and it will be available with or without a thumb safety, like the rest of the M&P line. View Quote |

Brownells has them available for pre-order both with and without the thumb safety.

That's a bummer. I personally find the m&p C to be an excellent CCW and range gun.
Now the "compact" is way too big. The shield is too small. |

Neat, I guess they listened. Many people wanted the Glock 19 size to replace their Glock 19 of course, ha

Will the compact take the full size mags now? Any word on an AR lower or mag block?

And yet the Full Size isn't really any bigger than a 19. They fit in holsters for the Glock 19. I'm not getting all the hype over 1/4" of barrel and maybe a 1/2" off the grip. View Quote |

I've had the FS for awhile now and really comfortable with it. Big decision for me will be is the slightly smaller size worth the $$. Will decide that after getting to play with one. Great that Smith has done this. Plus already having the Shield in both 9 and 45 for concealed carry may be a hard sell with the better half. View Quote |

Now waiting months more hoping they even do a 'sub compact' in the old size... |

This has been posted before but if you want to compare a few different pistol sizes this is a pretty good site. If you compare the M&P 2.0 and the 19 you will see they are very close.

About freaking time!
Magazine restrictions to 10 Rounds dictated frame length during the Clinton gun ban. This made sense. Why make a frame sized to accept a 15-round magazine when 10 rounds is the legal limit? But now, thank goodness, the Clinton ban is gone. Manufacturers should have taken note long ago. Hopefully this means other companies will soon be releasing mid-sized 9mm pistols. |

Do want.
I really liked the M&P platform (I owned seven at one point), but I ditched them all to standardize on Glocks 19s specifically for the "do-it-all" size and capacity. I've been branching out again to see how current stuff works for me (I really like my P320 Compact), so if I can get an improved M&P (M2.0) in a G19 size, it could be a game changer for me. |

I want one to hold me over until I can buy the 2011 that I really want. but at 2k, that's gonna be a while...
|
|
Id buy one if I didnt already have the 9c 3.5", but with that said Ill defiantly buy the 15 rd mag and grip spacer for my current 3.5"
|
|
FYI, I pre-ordered a 9mm no safety last week with Brownell's and it shipped today! That was way faster than I expected, I thought for sure I would be waiting at least a few months .

don't think the compact is covered via the rebate, the small text says M2.0 full size only.

Any obvious reasons that an M&P 2.0 Compact 9mm wouldn't fit an M&P 1.0 full size 9mm holster?

Just picked my Compact up and shot 50 rounds through it, no failures. Shoots just like all of my M&P's. I don't notice a difference in the 2.0 trigger except the reset is a little more noticable, but I've been carrying and shooting M&P's for more than 8 years. I carry a 9c most days and this new compact will work into my rotation along with my Glock 43 and Glock 19.

Just picked up my 2.0 compact today. Walked into my local gun store just as their first and only one was being delivered. Lucked out too...the first three letters of the serial number are my initials!
