My FS9 is past the 2k round count without a malfunction, so I trust it.  Bought a new shield 9, and it stove piped on the second magazine after the first round.  Went through another 150 rounds including a box of speer 124 +p without a problem.

How many more round would YOU shoot through it before you felt comfortable carrying my shield?

Thanks.

I generally shoot 200 rounds through my new guns and only then consider them 'broken or worn in'. I don't pay any mind to simple malfunctions that occur within the first 200, only if there is a problem with them from there on out.

I would say you are fine. Hell, could have been user error.

Don't know if this has anything to do with your problem,  but thought you migjt want to know.

I had multiple light strikes in the first 100, but no issues since.

These guns seem to need a break in as there are multiple reports of issues in first 100 rounds that self resolved.

The only problem I've had with mine is shooting too low/left (fixable) and the front dot coming out.

I don't think I'd be worried about one bad round out of 150+ rounds. I think its easy to say it's good to go.

First few magazines to me are not a concern, especially if you take it to the range without a good proper cleaning.

If from there you shot 150 rounds of your defensive ammunition with no failures, I'd say you're good to go.

I let my students do my breaking in on my guns and they have done just that.  The Shield is one of the most recent my classes have broke in.  About 300 rounds through it with all sorts of folks firing it and no malfunctions at all.  Seems to be the gun they like the most too.
