I've had a M&P9 fullsize for a few years and love it. I'm going to get a M&P9c, with non of the optional safeties.

Is there issues or mods to know about with the compacts?

Also are the compacts able to put a 9mm slide on a .40cal lower? like the Fullsizes.

You can convert a .40 M&P, full size or compact, to 9mm by simply replacing the barrel and magazine, but you cannot convert the 9mm versions to .40 S&W. in that manner.

Don't you also need to replace the ejector?

Owned the Smith and Wesson M&P9c. Originally purchased it for my wife. She and I both loved it. Only issue I had was the magazine release was easy to depress. Had a couple of incidents where the magazine fell out at the grocery store. This was mainly my fault due to not purchasing a proper holster for it. It was very accurate and loved the weight of it.

It might not have been the holster. Some of the early M&Ps had an issue with the mag release not retaining the mags well; you might want to give S&W a call about it (unless you got rid of it, which I am inferring from your use of the past tense.)

Nope. Just the barrel and mags.
