I'd love to get some Sig factory mags, but the price cannot be justified at this time. Whats the "best" aftermarket mag/price value and where can I get some?

There is only one source for good SIG after market magazines, and they also happen to be the OEM supplier.  MEC-GAR

The Novak mags I have for my 220 work perfectly.  I have heard excellent reviews on the Mec-Gar mags as well.

For the 228, I ended up with some with a CC logo stamped on the right side and one has a sticker that says 13 rounds 9MM or 10 rounds .40 cal.
They have worked perfectly so far, but I replaced them with lightly used 226 mags for $20 each.
For $20, I can live with the small extra length and 15 round capacity.

ahh but you don't have to check this out at Brownells:

Another Vote for Mec Gar.

I bought 3 of their 15 round LE mags after the sunset and they work perfectly.  I've ran about 500 rounds through them w/o any problems.  The only negative thing I can say about them is that they rattle with 14 rounds in the mag.

So if you chamber one for carry you might want to top the mag off

www.bigstatedist.com/bigstate/mecgar?set=01 for $30.

There may be a better deal out there, but these guys have a good reputation.

FB

ETA: www.copesdist.com/sigsauer.htm has SIG mags for $20 "Used Great Condition", or you can backorder NEW Macgar mags for the same price.

Unless things have changed, Mec-Gar no longer sells Sig mags to the public directly, what's left is remaining stock.  They are the OEM supplier for Sig as well as quite a few other big name firearms mfg's.  However, Sig decided it was too much competition for their logo'd magazines and changed it's agreement for Mec-Gar to not sell to the public.

Mec-Gar should be good, Sig mags ARE Mec-Gar.

Try Cope's - - -

I know this guy and he has taken a lot of money from me at the local toy shows  ! !

He's a straight-shooter-- if not happy he'll return your hard earned $ $ $ $ $ .

I've got four of the "used" Sig mags from him and are very happy with them.

But I really like the 15 round mags from Mec-Gar . . . .
