I have an older Sig 226 that the night sights are getting pretty dim on (at least compared to my newer 226 and 228).  Can the insert on these be replaced or do I have to get all new sights.  They are the factory night sights--not sure who makes them.

I think the vials are too delicate to replace.

You should be able to get a set, Meps or Trijs are the two I like, that will look and work fine.

Not sure which is factory, but it's probably one of the two.

Let me know what you come up with, I thought mine were fine until I bought home a new Glock with night sights and it was WAY brighter.

BTW Mine are aftermarket MEPS, about 9 years old.

I don't know anyone that replaces the vials but It would be worth a phone call to SiG to find out.

My favorites right now are the AO Ashley standard sized bar-dot sights.

I’m reasonably sure that Trijicon makes the sights for Sig.

Incidentally, while the sights definitely get dim with age, you might want to first make sure the vial windows are clean.

Assuming you’re hitting where you want to begin with, be sure to replace your sights with the same numbers (look closely).  If not, this is a good time to get sights with the correct heights.
