Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - reverse 226 magazine release

I picked up a like new 226 that must have belonged to a lefty.  I thought I knew how to reverse the mag release (remove handgrips, push mag release, twist small plate on opposite side of release) but it isn't working and I don't want to force it.  Any tips?

No one on this list knows how to make a left handed mag release into a right handed one?

I checked sig's website, but instead of giving instructions how to, they want you to send it to them to have them do it.

Thanks Mic and others!  I'm going to give it another look, and probably, at Mic's advice, find a Sig trained gunsmith to change it over.
