I got one of the OD G19 last week. Which rail mounted light is the best for this pistol?

Cruizer

Congrats on a fine pistol! If you can afford it I would go with the Surefire X-200.  I just got one after using the M3 for a few years.  The X-200 is a better built light IMHO.

I've got the Glock light on a G22.  It's a great value at under $100.  I don't know how many lumens it is but I've taken it off the pistol and shined it in my eyes in a dark room and I lost my vision for about 5 seconds after it was turned off.

In terms of price/features ratio I don't think you can beat the M3

Streamlight M3 3.3 oz <$100

www.botac.com/surefirex200.html}Surefire X200 3.8oz $190 (until the Surefire price-fixers find out of course, then it will be the required $250)

surefire P101 $200

I have the Glock "factory" light for my 23, I love it.  For $90 I think it's the way to go, obviously it fits perfectly and the switch is set up so you can use either the trigger finger or the weak hand thumb to actuate it from a firing grip.

Oh, and don't forget the little XML from Insight.  It's a full inch shorter than the M3 and would probably go very well with the svelte 19.

And half the power

XML at 45 Lumens

M3 at 80-90 Lumens

TANSTAAFL!

If you want brighter, get the M3X.  125 lumens and it's only slightly larger.

Streamlight M3 Dimensions 3.4" (L) x 1.57" (W) x 1.52" (H)
80-90 lumens
3.3 oz w/batteries
Run Time 60 minutes
$118

Insight M3X DIMENSIONS 3.6" L x 1.6" W x 1.6" H
125 lumens
3.9 oz. w/batteries
Minimum 60 min. continuous
$165

There's a price for everything.  I do like the fact that the M3X runs for the same amount of time, but is significantly brighter.  It's also interesting how similar they look.

I can't get a straight answer on how water-tight the M3X is (or isn't), either.  Right now it's "air tight" which is good for potentially explosive environments, I still don't know if I can use it while diving for zombie vampire sharks...

Get that Glock setup for underwater and you'd be good to go!

I'll second the Surefire X200 over the M3.  Used both and the X200 is built better.
