Ok before the required...."Get Both" I want some opinions.
I am looking at getting a CCW pistol. Now I am at the point of trying to figure out which one to get. I currently carry a Glock 23.....but the SO is taking that as her CCW. So I get to buy a new one 
Now I am looking at a Springfield Champion Loaded or a Springfield XD40 SC. What are the thoughts of the hive mind on these. The SO has already said I can only buy one........so for now I can only get one. I have a XD40 4" Service that I like.....but I also LOVE my 1911 Loaded that I have. So now is the question is...which should I get??? |

If so, consider a second one when she takes the current one. Lots of advantages to sharing mags, ammo, accessories, etc. and having a common manual of arms. OTOH, I understand that variety is the spice of life –– and I have a bunch of guns, so it's pretty easy for me to say to you Get another one just like it.  |

A friend of mine has an XD, and while I like it ok, Its just not a Glock. For me the Glock is the better handgun. Now if YOU shoot the XD better, and like it more than go ahead and get it. Oh why are you letting the SO take YOUr pistol?
 , Why not make her buy a new one? If I were you I'd decide which one I shot better and go with that. I would love to have a 1911 but if I could only chose one pistol to carry for the rest of my life it would be a Glock.

As others have said, if some other platform works better for you than the Glock, by all means go that direction. I personally would be replacing my G23 (or telling the woman to get one of her own) with another G23.

If you're looking at 1911 types I'm partial to this one:
http://www.stiguns.com/guns/VIP/VIP.php They will make them in all black to order. They also had an officer-size 2011 in all black with a really cool low profile sight system at the SHOT show which was new. |

I vote G27 to accompany that G23...I carry both and really like the set up and compatabiliy..
Oh wait, G27 was not on your ballot...I have a write in then
