When I have to pack a 9mm it's almost always my P226. It conceals fine as long as you use a QUALITY holster and belt.
Think Milt Sparks or Kramer Leather.

Yes, unless you are about 8 feet tall and weigh 500 lbs.
Get a J-frame Smith & Wesson (they made one in 9mm if you are fixed on that caliber, look on www.gunbroker.com). Preferably a titanium, scandium, or aluminum frame. SIG P226s are an absolutely wonderful pistol...the "Rolls Royce" of pistols, IMNSHO. But, they are not very concealable. |

For me, yes. I usually carry something a lot smaller/slimmer like a 1911.

I love my P226; it was the first centerfire pistol I bought [as opposed to gifts, etc].
I carried it a great deal when I turned 21. It was always a compromise - buy a good belt, adjust clothing, and deal with some discomfort. The P226 is a full frame service pistol. It is more difficult to conceal, and less comfortable to carry any full frame service pistol concealed than a compact or sub-compact offering. Whether it is worthwhile to you to spring for another pistol, only you can decide. |

I carried both a 220 and a 226. No, they're not too big.

Both SGB and V_G are large framed guys and I can confirm that with good holsters and belts and proper clothing you will not easily spot a full size Sig or 1911 on either. For me, however, being smaller than either...not to mention MUCH better looking...the 226 is too danged big to CCW comfortably, although I have done it with full size 1911s and the 220. Thus I would say 'it depends'...

This is all up to YOU. What works well for one person doesn't necessarily work for another. There are plenty of people who carry full-size SIGs and USPs (amongst others) with absolutely no problems.
As usual, though, the proper holster and belt make all the difference in the world. |

Hell no. I carry my full size 9mm USP. Same size as 226 IMO.
Dress around it a bit, get yourself a CTAC holster, add some cant, and a good belt. |

My only handgun is a P226. I have a Comp-Tac CTAC and I'm 5'6", 155 lbs. I'm also one of those guys who likes to wear semi-fitted clothes. I can't stand shirts that are too large for me. I usually wear a polo with stripes to break the outline of the pistol.

I used to carry my duty weapon CCW, but that 226 is a pig, so I bought a 239 for off duty carry. Easier on the waistband, although I miss having the double stack mags.
Wear what is comfortable. |

I carry my Glock 21 every day with no problems. I don't think you will have a problem with the 226.

I have to agree that a good holster and belt will do just fine. I have a G26 for summer carry and gonna get ANOTHER ctac for my beretta for winter carry. The comp tac ctac is really the best holster you can buy, excellent concealability.

That's a highly personal question that no one can answer for you.
It depends on so many factors, how you're built, how big you are, what kind of clothes you wear, what kind of carry rig you prefer, and what you're willing to put up with. Try it and see how you like it. |

Mine fits/rides just fine concealed. Noone has ever noticed it.
ETA: I have a Galco Royal Guard IWB holster, very comfortable. |
