Got my M92 PAP two weeks ago with every intention on turning it into a SBR. Picked this one up from Grab a Gun in Coppell, TX. Everything looks great on it and have about 200 rounds through it with 0 malfunctions so far. But enough of the boring stuff.

Knowing my Form 1 is MONTHS away, I decided to convert it into a full length rifle first, then when my paperwork is approved, I could shorten the barrel back down.

So on with it:

I have this thing about giving all my firearms names. Don't judge me. The M92 is Zuzka and just below it is my WASR Stefania

Previous to any of this, I had a Mission First Tactical pistol grip left over from my WASR project. Took a lot of extensive modification to clear the grip nut rivets and had to elongate the grip screw hole. Would not recommend it. Will probably swap for a Hogue pistol grip down the road.

Off with the thread protector

Really liked how this looked, almost though about leaving it like this for a while

Ran it down to a friend who welded it for me.

All I'm needing now is to decide on a handguard, my Tapco G2 to arrive, and a Primary Arms MD-06L red dot with a 1/2" riser. Oh yeah, and for my paperwork to get approved.

Very nice.  For that folding mechanism did you just drill through the reciever and use the existing truion?  Looks easy enough

Yes. Drilled and tapped the existing trunion. Took the supplied hardware with the folding mechanism, down to the local nut and bolt shop and they got me squared away with proper tap and drill bit. Not much to it.

How tight is the Stormwerkz hinge lock-up? Haven't decided if I want to go that route with a triangle folder or go for the correct underfolder.

Where is this welding place you speak of for local folks?

I'm on the fence about picking up a m92 locally and doing this, or just purchasing it from cnc warrior.

How does it shoot?

Very tight. Takes some effort to get it unlocked.

The guy who welded it for me doesn't take any outside work just an old buddy of mine. But there is a guy on Pelicano by the name Tony who I hear does awesome work. His place is called TJ Welding and Fabrication. They do Cerakote right next door too.

Shoots beautifully. I would have gone with the CNCWarrior carbine but I really wanted the DPH stock and a left folder. Otherwise that is what I would have gone with.

Does your pin go into an existing hole in the muzzle area?  Where exactly is the OEM hole, is it right at 12 o'clock?

I have an M92 with a pinned fake suppressor like this.  When my SBR paperwork is approved, I need to remove the barrel extension (fake suppressor), but the pin is hidden very effectively.

No I had to create a somewhat deep divot for the pin to catch the pin in the muzzle. I drilled in the 6 o'clock position and I did it pretty far out on the muzzle so I would not be drilling into the threads.

Is there not an existing muzzle hole for this detent pin to fit in?  I have a similar detent kit for my OEM flash suppressor.  I was expecting that hole to have been used for my pinned barrel extension, but apparently I can't assume that.

Oh the detent pin. Yes, there is an existing hole for it.  I don't know if the ATF considers that permanent though. I don't know that you would want to weld that up though. The existing detent pin hole is more of an 11 o'clock location if I recall correctly.

I'm guessing my AK builder (from many years ago) used the original detent pin hole for my barrel extension pin.  And then welded that pin to the barrel extension like you're doing.  I was wondering where the original detent pin hole was located so I'd know where to start looking for the welded pin.  So I will start looking in the 11 o'clock position and go from there.

Thanks
