Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - What's the best way to clean a parkerized finish and plastic furniture?

This is probably and really dumb question, but I don't have any firearms with on old Parkerized finish like this.  I tried Rem-oil on the Valmet and it streaked and blotched pretty bad - didn't seem to clean either.  What do you guys use on this and the plastic forend to clean, rejuvenate, etc.?  Thanks!

For cleaning plastic......I'd recommend Ballistol.

It smells like two week old gym socks (at least the aerosol does, te standard stuff isn't as bad), but it works great on metal, leather, plastic and wood.

For actually cleaning the metal, Hoppes #9 or Shooter's Choice works great but I wouldn't leave the solvents on the plastic for very long.
