Hi,
I just purchased a "NIB" 392 ARM. Upon inspection, I have some concerns. The barrel is dark and cruddy for starters. It is obviously not NIB, but I am afraid it may be a kit build. Receiever is marked on rear left:
s. auto galil
cal .223 rem.
model 392
imi-isreal

On the front right of the receiver, is " 04 x ".  Is this a normal Galil marking? I hope it doesn't mean it was built or refurfurbished in 04.

Also The rear sight housing has a number matching the last 4 of the sn, but the paint is worn away in that area.

Are there any other markings to look for as the bolt and carrier are marked only: bolt: 04 , carrier: A 12.

Also, the area for a scope mount is worn down to bare parkerizing.

SN is AAL-2086XXX

What type of markings were on the Galil bare receivers that came in?

Thanks very much in advance for help!

It's not a kit build, that is a pre-89 receiver.
