Ok the trigger on my SKS has to be pulled a 1/4 of an inch before the hammer drops. I have read several documents on trigger jobs for the sks. Most state the lenth of the pull cannot be shortened. However, I think it can. Theoretically speaking the sear bar (the piece under the hammer holding it) can be shortened, and rehardened. The shortening of the sear bar could reduce the lenth of pull. Polishing could reduce the roughness and pull wieght. Also, changing the angle of the sear bar (EVER SO SLIGHTLY) to also aid in reducing the pull wieght. Last but not least, put a screw through the back of the trigger guard as a stop. Someone step in and tell me the possible problems with these modifications.
