I bought an unfired MISR SA from a local two weeks before the Maadi crutch kits became available. I ordered the 1/2-28 threading kit from CNC Warrior and fourtfourmag helped me with the threading process. I cold blued the threads afterwards.
With the threading kit I also ordered the 1/2-28 slant brake from CNC Warrior, Russian furniture from member russiancollector and RussianSurplus.com. I also installed a G2 FCG and FCG retaining plate, the rear sight leaf was rusted to battle zero and fourtfourmag gave me a spare rear sight leaf.
I removed all traces of oils and residue from the rifle and sprayed the rifle with RustOleum appliance epoxy paint from roughly 8 inches away. Air dried for 30 minutes and baked at 375 for one hour. The rifle matches the original paint close enough for me and this has been a fun project as this is my only AKM, I collect 100 series rifles.
