Just got a SGL 20. This is my first AK. What are the pros or cons about putting on a flashider or compensator? I saw this that is supposed to be a flash hider/compensator combo.

Also what is a good sight adjustment tool?
Thanks

I'm a nub too, but I can tell you that one won't work.  You want a 24x1.5mm RH threaded.

What's odd is I tried to put the brake that came with my SGL10 on my SGL20 and it wouldn't screw on all that way.  Anybody know what's up with that?

Anyone with an SGL20 found a good one that definitely works (either AK74 or even just slant brake)?

I did not notice that one would not fit. That will probabbly limit my choices.

My SGL20 came with the US made Arsenal `74 style 7.62 brake. Works very well, though not chrome lined. K-var has Bulgarian flash hiders and the Arsenal `74 style brakes in stock. I didn't see Bulgarian 7.62 style `74 brakes listed.

Most of the SGL20's I've seen don't even come with comps.
As for a sight tool, the Tapco windage & elevation one  is top of the line. Midway has'em.

Nothing, but if someone paid $900+ for a Russian 103 I think they would want the proper brake on their Legion.

i just picked up a K-Var US made brake for my SGL 20 and it won't even thread up to the pin or line up correctly.Does anyone think the bulgy brake will work any better? It seems to be a problem with the threads, either the muzzle or the brake.I think I found the answer below, sanding out the brake.

I don't know, but if you trailblazers find a brake that works without effectively forcing the brake to rip through the existing threads, please let me know!

I have the SGL 20, and I bought the Arsenal brake from K-VAR and it works just fine.

There must be a real quality control problem with either the Kvar brake or the front sight assy.I haven't found a mount that will thread on yet.

I called Arsenal about this problem and was told that they had some 74 type brakes that had some out of spec threading. I bought one of their US made 74 brakes and told them to make sure it was OK for the SGL20, got it in last night and whent on just fine, very nice.

I also bought the Arsenal Brake from K-VAR. Mine went on fine and seems to work well.
