Hi all,

New to the AK world and recently purchased a MAK 90 to start. Bit of an odd one as it has the cleaning rod attached and a muzzle nut attached to the end. It says B-West on the receiver. After doing some searching I found out that some B-West receivers were bad. Is mine one of them or do I have a true Chinese import? Here is a shot of the side of the receiver



Also, how do I get the darn muzzle nut off and is it worth it to refinish the receiver?

That's no B-West receiver, B West was only the importer of your rifle.  Look at this website (excellent site provided by a member here!), the fourth picture down, read the info and you'll find out why your rifle has some of the preban features.  Is the muzzle nut tack-welded on?  Is it held on by a detent pin that won't press in?  Check it out and post your findings.
