The 7.62x39 has the ability to hit targets at that distance, do you? (no offense) At longer ranges the shooter is as big a factor as the weapon itself.
Any sort of optics or just irons? |

Yeah, 400m is quite a distance for an AKM with iron sites. A very skilled shooter might do OK if shooting prone or bench rest, but the average shooter will have difficulty getting consistant accuracy from an AKM beyond 250m-300m with the irons. Adding a fixed 4X scope would change the game. WIth my AK's, I personally spend most of my time shooting 18" sillouettes at the practical ranges of 50m-200m. |
