The other day someone told me that he has seen AK-47's in this caliber. I asked if it was in Afghanistan since he had spent some time there. He didn't definitively say "yes" or "no". I still contend they aren't made in that caliber especially considering that it is a rimmed cartridge.

Do any of you have any insight or input regarding this?

Romanian PSL is an overgrown AK action. It looks like an SVD/Dragonov rifle, but it is the AK action vs. the "SKS" type used by real SVDs. That's the only one I know of off the top of my head.

Yep... Iraqis have a similar weapon, which is understandable considering that they get their weapons from Romania...

The FPK/PSL is essentially an AK/RPK in 54R
