I was thinking the same thing. If the 60 Gr. bullet is as long as it is already, a 70Gr. would be REALLY long...too long to stabilize probably. KyARGuy |

70 gr 5.45mm sounds like the old Uly ammo. I don't think its imported anymore.
Velocity of the Uly 5.45mm FMJ is 2528 fps compared to Wolf 5.45mm FMJ with a velocity of 2880 fps. Whether the Uly has the airspace in the tip, I don't know. |

On the box it says State Unitary Enterprise, and Ulyanovsk Machinary Plant. Also says 70 gr FMJ LCB. It comes in 25 round boxes and is non corrosive. on the bullet base it has a 3 and 97. Now will this damage my rifle, since its not a normal cartridge! Im in Vegas and it sells for 2 bucks each!

Isn't 2880 FPS slow for 5.45x39? I thought it was closer to 5.56 velocities than that. Is the commercial stuff loaded weak?
2528 FPS?! I'd rather have good old 7.62x39! |

I have not seen that stuff for a few years. If you like it, pace yourself. No airtip, hence the higher weight with the same dimensions. More had bad results with it than good, so be happy you are happy with it. |

I have no idea what the velocity is for the real 7n6 5.45mm, since it is 52 gr. The 2880 fps figure was from using Wolf 5.45mm 60 gr FMJ, even when fired from the RPK-74's 24 inch barrel, velocity only increased to 3033 fps. |
