I want to buy my first AK47 and was looking at Atlantic Firearms web site. I found a Vector underfolder and a Yugo. underfolder. Which one would be the best. I have several AR15's, but no ak47's. I need one. I get great advice and learn alot from this website. Thanks, Thomaswh3

The Yugo was built by?(red jacket arms?)
The Yugo does not have a crome bore.
The Vectors have a crome bore.
The Vector uses Polish kits to built their underfolders.
I like the Vector arms.

If you have the few extra dollars go with an Arsenal..

You wont be sorry and the quality if superior to anything on the market.

I have one coming, I have been shopping around for some time now.

My 2 cents

If you can live without a chrome bore, go with the Yugo.  It has the heavier RPK type receiver and the barrel and some other parts are heavier.  They have a real nice feel to them at the range.

I have seen Polish parts sets and they are a cut above most AK's in terms of machining, so I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with them.  They are lots better than Romanians.

The Yugos also have some cool "bells and whistles" that other AK's don't have like grenade launcher sights, flip-up night sights and they were used with mags that had "hold-open" followers.  They were also very accurate for an AK.

Thanks for the info. Who has the best prices on an arsenal?

The prices are pretty much the same all over.  Sometimes peoples like me get l ucky and snag a rare one for cheap.

Contact a forum member called Templar, he works at a shop that moves alot of the Arsenal Rifles.

As far as vector or yugo... I'd go vector.  I think those yugo AK's are ugly as hell.

There are a few nice deals here on EE as I got.

One with all kinds of mods and accessories.

New SAM7 are out but not many yet for about 675.

Classics with under or side folders are quite a bit more because the receiver has to be worked more
because of the stock.

Vector.  Very nice arm and the barrel is chrome lined.   Also built on a superior Polish kit.  The Yugo's take a back seat to the Vectors as far as I'm concerned.

I would never purchase an  AK without chrome lined bore and chamber.  I don't see the attraction of the yugo's.  Lost muzzle velocity do to the short barrel and the pointless ugly can that has to be installed to make them legal.  Go with an Arsenal or Vector .
