I grit blasted it with 120 Aluminum Oxide, and then K-Phosed it, and then sprayed on Norrell SOCOM black Moly Resin with an airbrush, and then baked at 325 for 1 hour 10 minutes.

Yes, transferable.

I would either keep it authetic Egyptian or make a russian clone with the proper laminated stockset.   Also get the correct matching bayonet.

I can only dream of owning one of those.  Congrats on such a nice rifle!

I would get a nice Russian laminate AKM set for it, and a cleaning rod while you're at it.  

Looks good though... I wouldn't have the balls to do anything like that myself with a gun of that value.

I have the rod, but forgot to put it back in.

I will put brown back on it.

As for doing work on the gun, it is safer than shipping it to someone for a refinish.

You sir, are my hero.  Thats so awesome.    I love mine, but I'll never own anything that cool.  

 As nice as the Maadi is, it pales in comparison to your Krinkov.  It is by far the nicest piece I have came across on the net.  BTW, I love the video.  I ran across it awhile back and watch it from time to time.

I will make an AK105 from another Chinese underfolder.

I don't want to modify the AKM so much because it is with original Red Dawn wood.

As for the wood, that is gen-u-ine "Red Dawn" movie wood. See that "blemish" on the bottom of the lower handguard? It's actually a single digit number carved there. It may be a "1." That's from the movie too, done by Stembridge or MGM. I have several other parts sets from "Red Dawn" Maadi's and they all have those numbers crudely carved there. (I verified the "Red Dawn" pedigree with Dan Shea, papers went with the gun. Also what went with the gun was a spare AKM stock personally signed by M.T. Kalashnikov with my Sharpie marker! Got to shake his hand, etc. Did it at the 2002 SHOT Show in Orlando. What a trip! But I digress . . .)

That gun looked like a dog's butt when I got it, I stripped the scratched up paint and Kryloned it, which was admittedly crude but made it look 100% better, and I had intended to do it right at some point in the future. I also refinished the wood per a "secret recipe" from a guy on the AK boards who refinishes AK wood in beautiful reddish finish that looks like original Russian wood finish. Granted the wood on that gun looks not so great, but you should have seen the stock before!

I also installed a center-receiver rivet, which had been hacked away because the freaking auto sear was an AK-47 (not AKM) autosear which required that rivet to be cut away, and replaced the Chinese AK-47 fire control parts with a group from a euro AKM, complete with correct anti-bounce parts. I had to time the gun, and make some slight custom alterations to the internals for everything to fit & function correctly. Last but not least, I zeroed that gun in, and I have witnesses (Lee Minor from LRM Custom Firearms & Suppressors for one) where I swear I was coming VERY CLOSE to hitting milk jugs at 400 meters from that gun using Wolf ammo (on semi, of course), and even scored some hits. I could BARELY SEE the spot of jug as I was firing.

Well dang it looks GREAT! I'm glad it went to a person who at least takes care of it, and shoots it, and posts pics of it. I'll make you a deal--if you ever want to sell it, gimme first right of refusal, at whatever price you want. Who knows, I may have money again someday. Easy come, easy go!

If so, who did you get to do the work welding up the holes at the rear of the receiver on which the (underfolding) stock pivots?
