without having stock material to work with (a finished, trimmed receiver does not) and a closed die set to hold the metal around the dimple, pulling will occur (as the metal stretches in to the dimple form).

it would be easiest to heat the metal up and hammer the form into a female (a bar located on the inside of the receiver) die bar using a male punch...but even then, i would worry about pulling and draw.

the missing dimples have kept me away from saiga's, also.
